Prime Minister Hailemariam on Wednesday (November 21st) held talks with a 12-member delegation led by former Brazilian President, Lula da Silva who had come to call on Ethiopia to provide support for the international conference on African Food Security which will be held in Addis Ababa, March 4th -5th next year.
During his discussions with the Prime Minister, Mr. Lula da Silva emphasized his appreciation of Ethiopia's commitment to food security, describing it as a model for the region. He also commended the rapid economic growth registered over the past eight years. The discussions covered Brazil's investments in Ethiopia and highlighted the ample investment opportunities available in Ethiopia particularly in agriculture, energy and mineral sectors. The delegation also discussed ways to boost the already existing good diplomatic relations between the two countries. Prime Minister Hailemariam told the delegation that Ethiopia was fully ready to provide support towards the success of the conference, and added that it would provide a forum for Brazil to share its experiences.
