Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - Ethiopian Aviation Academy graduated 255 trainees from its schools of aviation maintenance, marketing and cabin crew on November 13, 2012.
The Academy graduated 150 maintenance technicians, 60 cabin crew and 44 marketing trainees. Among the 150 aviation maintenance technician graduates, four are Tanzanian nationals.
The graduation ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr. Joram Biswaro, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania; Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Airlines, Mr. Tewolde Gebremariam; Ethiopian Airlines management and staff; and the families and relatives of the graduates.
Ethiopian Aviation Academy was inaugurated in 1956 and provides training for pilots, maintenance technicians, cabin crew, marketing and finance as well as management training to cater for its own needs and those of other airlines, primarily from Africa. It offers global standard aviation training services, with a current yearly in-take capacity of around 1,000 trainees and its Aviation Maintenance School certified by both the US Federal Aviation Agency and the European Aviation Safety Agency.
In line with its Vision 2025, Ethiopian Aviation Academy aims to become the leading Aviation Academy in Africa with global standard aviation training services, in which its quality and price “Value Proposition” is always better than its competitors. It plans to increase its yearly admission capacity fourfold by 2025, with almost half of the admissions coming from other airlines.
